Even for the "churchiest" among us, sometimes it's nice to remind ourselves what the reasons are for the things that we do and celebrate.
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward he was hungry. Matthew 4:1-2
Every year, Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and is always 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) marked by repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration. The 40-day period represents Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness, where he fasted and where Satan tempted him. Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year for similar fasting, marking an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection.

At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in King of Prussia, we have a wonderful Wednesday evening Lenten worship experience. Our theme this year is "All Creatures Great and Small" - each week our guest preachers will explore a different animal that roams the pages of scripture.
We worship using the beautiful "Holden: Prayer Around the Cross" liturgy. If you've never experienced this before, come check us out in-person at 7:00pm or live on our YouTube Channel. Scroll through the pictures.....here's what to expect:
